One connection that I have is that when Roy got bullied on the bus by Dana, my brother had a bully that bullied him every day, but then my brother said “STOP!” and from then on the bully stopped. Another connection that I have to the book is that the running boy was running barefoot on the sidewalk running through yards, in the summer I always walk around barefoot and run through yards, but sometimes I get yelled at by the owners. My last connection is that Roy and Mullet Fingers care for the animals, I care for my cat a lot and he is always happy because he is well-fed.

One connection I have is when Roy got bullied on the bus, my brother gets bullied by a kid and whenever he tells on him my brother gets in trouble not the kid. Just like when Roy tells on Dana. Another connection I have is when I read the book "Scat" also by Carl Hiaasen they are both about the enviroment and saving animals. (Owls for "Hoot" and panthers for "Scat".) My last connection is a lot of people have gophers in their backyard and I used to. My dad wanted to kill them so they couldn't come back but I convinced him to scare them off. I know that sounds cruel but they could've been dead and now they have a new home.

One connection that I have to Hoot is that when I was in third grade me and my friend would hang out together all the time because we had a bully that bullied us both for no reason,and in the book Roy is bullied by Dana for no reason too. The connection that i have from this book to another book is Hoot is just like the book Claudia because she also got bullied by her friends. Also the connection that Hoot has to the world is that in Hoot Roy helps out a friend with saving the owls but in the world we are helping all the animals that got stuck in the oil spill in the Gulf Of Mexico.

1. A personal experice that i had with the book is when i was little my parents wanted to build a play house for me and my brother but i said no because chimpmauks lived there. so i convenced my mom to build the play house somewhere else.

A personal experience I have to the book is when I was eight or nine my cousin used to push me around a lot Like Roy gets pushed around or bullied by Dana. A text to text connection I have is the book "A Cousins Challenge" Because two people get pushed around by a guy with a gun. A text to world connection I have is almost all the people in the U.S.. are trying to help with the oil spill in the gulf of mexico like Mullet fingers is trying to help the owls on the construction site.

ReplyDeletetext to self - a text to self that i have had was when Roy had to make the desision to eather tell his parents about mullet fingers or eather keep the secret but he told them some of it because they could help...and once i had a verry tough desision to make and i chose the right thing to tell someone about it...
ReplyDeletetext to text - in hoot there was a part when Roy would get tormented for no good reason until he fought back and then the bully didnt give up...and in this other book i read there was a girl that got picked on but she didnt know what else to do so she fought back and she was the one that got the consiquences like she got grounded because the bully would start up new stories about what happened just to frame her...
text to world - in the book when all the construction was going on in the mother paulas pankake house was there were owels and the people knew that they were there but they didnt do anything to keep the construction from happining even though they knew that they were breaking a law....and people in the world have not been caring about the oil spill in the gulf and so it always ends up being their punishment and consequence..

1. One connection i have with the book hoot is that when i lived in Mexico i got bullyed by a girl and because she wore whatever clothes she wanted and never got in trouble and the rest of us kids had to wear uniforms and the only reason that she could wear whatever clothes she wanted is because her mom was and is still is an teacher,same with Roy he got bullyed by Dana on the bus. I had to walk to school and he rode the bus.

Text to World: Roy got a group of friends to come and help protest about what he thought was right, so did beatrice and mullert fingers.- in the world today people are getting groups together to protest on what they think is right because they want to be heard.

One conection that I have is with Beatrice the connection that I have with her is she's mean sometimes and she also sometime;s also hits people which what I sometimes do with someone when I get fustrated.
